Demonstration in Turin in favor of the Tav, Cirio: "Being violent means being criminal"

"Today it is important to be in the streets because these are topics on which we must first continue to put our face, always with coherence. And this first topic is against all forms of violence". Thus the president of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, present at the Sì Tav demonstration, organized in Turin against the attacks on construction sites in Val di Susa this summer and in favor of the Turin-Lyon.

"What happened this summer, for the umpteenth time, is something that doesn't scare us, doesn't intimidate us and that we strongly denounce, as something that should never happen again, because it is a criminal act. Because expressing dissent and respecting dissent is democracy - added Cirio - Being violent means being criminals and criminals do not have the possibility of harboring in our republican Constitution".

About two hundred people take part in the demonstration, in Piazza Palazzo di Città. "This is a garrison of democracy.

This is not a demonstration. The demonstration has already taken place, we participated, there were 50 thousand of us because the TAV was stopped - explains Cirio -. Today we must give clear messages: the TAV is moving forward day by day, meter by meter, and will soon be built and completed."

"So - he concludes - we preside against violence, we preside for democracy and we preside for the completion of a work in which we believe and which represents the future of our Piedmont.
