Turin, the Sì Tav protest in Piazza Palazzo di Città concluded

The Sì Tav demonstration promoted after the violence at the Turin-Lyon construction site on 25 July has ended in Turin.

Around 200 people took part in the demonstration in front of the Municipality, in Piazza Palazzo di Città. The president of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio was present. However, the leader of Action, Carlo Calenda, who was expected in the square but was stuck in Sicily, did not participate.

Calenda however sent a message in which he reiterated his support for Turin-Lyon.

The demonstration lasted over an hour. Various interventions took place on stage, in which the violence that occurred during the summer was condemned. During the interventions, the absence of the mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo, was also highlighted, as he had sent a message yesterday reiterating his support for the TAV and explaining that he would not participate in the demonstration due to commitments made previously.
