Unsolved murder in Manisa in 2015 was revealed

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the work carried out by the Manisa Provincial Gendarmerie Command, under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Public Order Department and the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the incident, the perpetrator of which could not be identified in 2015, was brought to light.

After Meral Babacan's body was found on the Akhisar-Manisa highway on July 6, 2015, the file, whose perpetrator could not be identified, was re-examined by JASAT teams.

JASAT teams examined the plastic piece, which was the only evidence found at the scene, and determined that this piece was the side mirror frame of a vehicle belonging to a brand and model.

Based on the mirror frame detail, JASAT teams examined the records by making time and distance measurements on the City Security Management System (KGYS) cameras of the day of the incident.

During the studies, it was confirmed that Babacan walked towards his workplace after getting off the bus, and it was determined that a vehicle that was exactly compatible with the mirror frame found at the scene was passing through the area at the time of the accident.

The teams traced the vehicle and determined that it was sold to another citizen in Şanlıurfa in 2017. During an interview with the current owner of the vehicle, it was confirmed that the side mirror had been replaced in the past.

R.Ç., who was driving the vehicle on the date of the incident. The person named was caught in an operation carried out by JASAT teams and was arrested by the judgeship on duty.

Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi made a statement regarding the issue on his NSosyal account.
