17 people died in a gun attack on a bar in South Africa

South African police announced that 17 people were killed and 15 people were injured in the armed attack in the town of Wedela in the West Rand region near Johannesburg.

According to the information provided by the police, the attack started in front of a bar on Saturday evening local time.

It was stated that 8 attackers, whose identities have not yet been determined, opened fire on people drinking outside the bar.

It was reported that the attackers then entered the business and continued shooting at those present.

Police announced that the attackers used pistols and AK-47 type long-barreled weapons.

15 PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL

While 17 people lost their lives in the attack, 15 people who suffered bullet wounds were referred to surrounding health institutions for treatment.

South African police, in a statement on their social media account, stated that some customers were both inside and outside the bar at the time of the attack.

In the statement, it was stated that the attackers searched some people, took their mobile phones and then fled the scene with two vehicles.
