Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that judicial proceedings were initiated against 22 suspects, including the person who served as MASAK Deputy Chairman at the time of the incident, in the "Political or Military Espionage" investigation carried out against MASAK's Integrated Financial Intelligence System (EMIS) within the scope of the simultaneous operation based in Istanbul and carried out in Ankara. Gürlek reported that 5 suspects were caught and detained, arrest warrants were issued for 16 suspects who were determined to be abroad, and efforts to capture 1 suspect were continuing.
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, in his post on his social media account, stated that the fight against structures that attempt to infiltrate state institutions and use public resources and critical information systems for organizational purposes continues.
UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTIONS TO EMIS WERE DETECTED
Gürlek announced that in the "Political or Military Espionage" investigation carried out with the Istanbul Provincial Police Department under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, important findings were reached regarding unauthorized transactions and the security of system records on the Integrated Financial Intelligence System used by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK).
Within the scope of the investigation, it was stated that individuals and companies with intimate connections to FETO-PDY were influential in the development and maintenance of MASAK's critical digital infrastructure between 2012 and 2018.
Gürlek, EMİS software has been used by AGMLAB A.Ş. since 2012. It was developed by MRD A.Ş. and this company. and Barış Ata A.Ş., which was closed by Decree Law No. 667. He stated that it was determined that there were partnership and management relations between the companies. He noted that there were findings that some partners of the companies assumed high-level responsibilities in the military and IT secret structures of FETO-PDY.
PEP PROTECTION SYSTEM HAS BEEN DISABLED
Gürlek announced that the protection system regarding the Politically Exposed Persons List (PEP) on EMIS was disabled during the investigations carried out within the scope of the investigation. Following this, he stated that it was determined that interrogations were carried out regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, his relatives and some ministers.
Gürlek stated that technical findings were obtained indicating that there were suspicious situations regarding the integrity of some records in the system and that some data fields may have been deleted later, and that it was determined that log records that would enable retrospective auditing of the transactions of users with administrative authority were not kept.

TRUSTEE APPOINTED TO 2 COMPANIES
Within the scope of the investigation, AGMLAB A.Ş. and MRD A.Ş. were seized by court decision and the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund was appointed as trustee, Gürlek stated that the statements of the 3 former presidents who served as MASAK President in the relevant periods will be taken by the judicial authorities.
In his post, Gürlek thanked the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which conducted the investigation, and the Istanbul Provincial Police Department, which carried out the operation, and stated that the legal process will continue against the FETO-PDY structure, which infiltrated state institutions, used critical information systems for organizational purposes, and targeted national security.
3 FORMER MASAK PRESIDENTS WILL TESTIFY ON MONDAY
It was learned that the former MASAK presidents whose statements will be consulted within the scope of the investigation are Mürsel Ali Kaplan, who served in 2009-2014, İbrahim Hakkı Polat, who served in 2014-1016, and Osman Dereli, who served in 2016-2019.
It was learned that former MASAK presidents will come to the Istanbul Palace of Justice to testify on Monday. On the other hand, it was learned that the suspect who was detained during the operation and who served as MASAK Deputy Head of Department at the time of the incident was İnönü Akgün Gökalp.
