National Security Council meets in Beştepe

The National Security Council will meet in Beştepe under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan.

LATEST SITUATION AFTER THE FRAMEWORK LAW

At the meeting, the implementation of the framework law enacted in the Terror-Free Türkiye process and the disarmament process will be discussed. Intelligence reports will be reviewed. The detection by security institutions of the disarmament process and the end of the actual existence of the PKK and its affiliated organizational structures is one of the most important stages of the Terror-Free Türkiye process. Once the confirmation and detection phase is completed, the process law will come into effect. Those who want to benefit from the law will be able to apply to the relevant institutions within six months after the MGK decision is published in the Official Gazette.

NEGOTIATION PROCESS BETWEEN THE USA AND IRAN

Regional developments will also be on the agenda of the MGK. The ongoing negotiation process between the USA and Iran and the effects of the deadlock in the Strait of Hormuz will be discussed.

THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINE WAR AND DEVELOPMENTS IN THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN

The latest situation in Gaza and the steps to be taken to ensure navigation security in the Black Sea in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine will also be evaluated at the MGK. Developments in the Eastern Mediterranean will also be reviewed at the meeting. Greece's arming of the islands and Southern Cyprus's Military Activities will be among the agenda items of the Board.
