The National Security Council convened under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan

Beştepe, where an economic meeting was held yesterday with the fund crisis agenda, is hosting another critical meeting today. The National Security Council convened for the first time after the framework law under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan.

CNN Türk Presidential Correspondent Arda Erdoğan conveyed the details as follows;

"We expect important evaluations to be made regarding the terrorism-free Turkey process. It is expected that both regional developments and the fund crisis issue, which directly affects economic security, will be on the agenda of today's National Security Council meeting.

The terrorism-free Türkiye process is being closely followed. The National Intelligence Organization and the Turkish Armed Forces have been monitoring disarmament activities in the field by the National Security Council since the enactment of the framework law. There is some news especially from Iraq. For example, an important step was taken to clear Sinjar of terrorist elements. In addition, positive developments regarding the integration process in Syria are being followed from Ankara.

All these topics are expected to be discussed and examined at the National Security Council meeting. Also, this week was an important week. At the beginning of the week, that is, on Monday, Cevdet Yılmaz convened the Process Commission. The preparations made at that commission meeting and the preparations for monitoring the disarmament of the terrorist organization PKK will also be on the table. The repercussions of that meeting will also be discussed at the National Security Council.

We mentioned regional developments. Regional developments are, of course, followed closely. Türkiye's diplomatic initiatives are on the table to end the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian War in the north peacefully. Also, will there be a process similar to the Grain Corridor? How will navigational safety be ensured in the Black Sea? Because we have recorded serious attacks against some Turkish-owned ships in the past months. Is it possible to stop those attacks? This will be looked into, of course.

The latest situation in Gaza is expected to be on the table again. The Mecca Agreement is a very new agreement. This agreement must be passed by the Parliament. Before it is passed by the Parliament, it is of course followed that the Mecca Agreement affects some international balances. In this context, what will topics such as joint military coordination capacity, joint exercises, joint cooperation and defense industry bring in the coming period in the context of the Mecca Agreement? Will new countries be included in this agreement? These topics are expected to be consulted and negotiated at that meeting.

We said economic security. Following the fund crisis investigation, high-level meetings continue in Ankara. It is expected that the steps that can be taken and the measures to be taken regarding economic security will be expressed at the National Security Council meeting.
