Motorcyclist is shot by agent during approach in Niterói

In the images it is possible to see the moment when an agent pairs his motorcycle with the motorcyclist's and shoots.

Danilo remains hospitalized in a very serious condition at the Azevedo Lima State Hospital. He worked as a pizza chef and was hit about 200 meters from the restaurant where he worked, on Rua Mariz e Barros, in Icaraí. Friends say he also made deliveries on his days off.

"Danilo will need treatment. We are confident that he will return. And, because of a failure by the State, because it was not an accident or an illness, we have nowhere to lean on. We feel incapacitated, because we can't do anything at this moment. It's very complicated," said Rosane Matias, Danilo's aunt.

In testimony, one of the agents reported that he was patrolling the region with a colleague when he saw the motorcyclist. According to him, Danilo ran a red light, was traveling at high speed and ended up rearing his motorcycle.

The agents started following him. According to the police officer, traffic forced the motorcyclist to stop, at which point he used pepper spray during the approach.

The agent also stated that he saw Danilo put his hand on his waist. He then pulled out his gun and, as he disembarked the motorcycle, a shot was fired. According to the statement, the shot was unintentional and hit the motorcyclist in the head.
