Woman is killed with 11 stab wounds in Montes Claros; brother was arrested

A woman was stabbed to death inside her home in Montes Claros this Friday (23). According to the Military Police, the suspect in the crime, who is her brother, was found trapped in the property.

According to the PM, the corporation was called after a resident heard the victim screaming for help inside the residence, on Avenida Neco Delfino, in the Delfino Magalhães neighborhood. The applicant reported that he tried to enter the property to help her, but was prevented by the attacker.

When the military arrived at the scene, they found the man in the backyard of the residence, leaning against the living room door and carrying a knife. According to the PM, upon receiving orders to drop the weapon, he started using it to cut his own neck. The police managed to arrest him and handcuff him.

When asked about the motivation for the murder, the man simply stated that he had stabbed his sister several times with a knife because she had broken some of his personal objects.

Samu was called and confirmed the death of the woman, who was 59 years old and was lying inside the residence.

According to an initial assessment by the Civil Police, the victim had 11 puncture wounds. The body was sent to the Legal Medical Center.

The PM had to mobilize several teams to the location, as the suspect insisted on taking his own life and there was a crowd of residents and a risk of lynching.

After receiving medical attention, the 62-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Civil Police station.
