Mother of three children stabbed to death in Coesfeld – husband arrested

A 36-year-old mother of three children was stabbed to death in a municipal accommodation facility in Coesfeld in North Rhine-Westphalia. The police arrested her 43-year-old husband, the public prosecutor's office said. The Turkish couple lived separately, reports the “Bild” newspaper. According to Turkish media, it is said to be a Kurdish family.

Witnesses found the woman in the accommodation on Wednesday afternoon with stab wounds to her upper body. She was so seriously injured that resuscitation measures were unsuccessful and she died at the scene.

The 43-year-old was arrested around midnight in Münster, around 40 kilometers away, following a tip from a witness. The man has not yet commented on the allegations against him. According to investigators, both the victim and the suspect have Turkish nationality. According to media reports, the man was last reported in Hamm.
