The police suspect that some patients may have received them from outside, probably thanks to people visiting the largest psychiatric hospital in the region.
Prohibited substances were detected, among others, during routine medical tests.
As our reporter found out, they include a strong synthetic psychoactive substance, which in most countries - including Poland - is treated as an illegal narcotic drug.
Three investigations
So far, no one has been arrested in this case. Illegal substances were detected three times: in July, August and mid-September.
"Police officers from the Kielce City Police Headquarters are currently conducting three independent proceedings initiated in connection with notifications submitted by hospital representatives. The cases concern the disclosure of prohibited substances. The first proceedings concern the incident on July 15, when a urine test revealed the presence of banned substances in three patients. The second proceedings are being conducted in connection with the incident on August 9. Portions of banned substances were revealed in one of the patients, which, according to preliminary findings, could have been transferred by an outside person, probably a visitor. The third case concerns the incident on September 18. About 8 grams of a substance initially identified as 2C-B was seized from one of the patients," we read in the response our journalist received from the spokesman of the Chief Commander of the Police in Kielce.
The police emphasize that at this stage they do not connect these events.
"In each case, separate activities are carried out to clarify all the circumstances, including determining the source of the secured substances and the persons who may have been associated with bringing them into the facility," emphasizes the press spokesman for the Chief Commander of the Police in Kielce.
