Katarzyna G. detained. Mother of Maja from Mława accused of murder

Katarzyna G. is now in the police detention center. The police will bring charges against her for violating an officer's inviolability. This is a separate investigation from the one initiated into the case of incitement to murder.

As Bartosz Maliszewski from the District Prosecutor's Office in Płock told Krzysztof Zasada, the search concerned the main case.

The police went to this search to secure the main data carriers, but also documents, and unexpected, unplanned, accidental events took place there - adds Bartosz Maliszewski.

The woman allegedly hit one of the policemen. He will be charged with violating the inviolability of the intervening officer.

The murder of 16-year-old Maja from Mława

Katarzyna G. is the mother of 18-year-old Bartosz G. The teenager is accused of murdering 16-year-old Maja K. The crime took place in 2025 in Mława.

According to the findings of the investigation, Bartosz G., then 17, and Maja K., who was a year younger, met on April 23, 2025, and on that evening the murder took place.

The official report of the 16-year-old's disappearance was received on April 24. Maja's body was found on May 1, 2025 in the bushes near the production plant belonging to the Bartosz G. family. An autopsy showed that the cause of death was extensive head injuries.

Bartosz G. detained in Greece

Bartosz G. was detained in Greece in May on the basis of a European Arrest Warrant. He was there on a school trip. He was transported to Poland on December 23, 2025. Two days after he was brought to the country, he was charged with the crime of murder with particular cruelty of 16-year-old Maja K. from Mława. During the hearing at the District Prosecutor's Office in Płock, he did not admit to committing this act and refused to provide explanations.

The Płock district prosecutor's office sent the indictment of Bartosz G. to the local district court in August. A preliminary hearing regarding the trial is scheduled for October.
