Take a deep breath. One cannot yet speak of a crash; the price losses are not dramatic enough for that. However, the Nasdaq tech exchange is in a so-called correction phase, as my colleague Udo Trichtl explains.

Correction phase – that sounds much more harmless. As if what was happening was necessary. And that's it: AI investments are enormous, loans are causing companies' mountains of debt to grow, while some quarterly figures don't look particularly good. It is definitely appropriate not to blindly surrender to the AI boom, but also to ask the question of substance in some companies.

For example, if you have invested your money in ETFs – don’t panic. The MSCI World, for example, has also lost money, but it has still been significantly up since the beginning of the year. What people tend to forget in good stock market times: corrections and even crashes are part of the stock market. To reassure you: technology stocks had already recovered a little at the opening of the stock exchange in the USA.

Since mid-October, a SPIEGEL team has been combing through hundreds of thousands of emails and documents from the AfD data leak. The colleagues are far from finished, but they have already dug up some interesting information from the 280 gigabyte data set.

The emails show, for example, that AfD leader Alice Weidel probably misled the public and the party in the affair surrounding illegal campaign donations from Switzerland in 2017. Weidel rejects this. The documents also show how the party has become radicalized and how closely it is sometimes linked to right-wing extremist activists.

Who was behind the data leak was previously unknown. But now SPIEGEL and ZDF were able to locate the suspected hackers. The trail leads, among other things, to a programmer who lives in the USA and apparently belongs to the notorious "Com" scene on the Internet. "Com" stands for "community", it is a network in which violence and abuse are glorified. The Federal Criminal Police Office warns against this scene because members sometimes incite minors to self-harm and commit crimes.

Will the impasse surrounding Vanessa Emde soon come to an end? At least the leadership of the Berlin Left now finally seems to have decided to officially distance itself from the controversial MP. The state executive board could issue a resolution this evening calling on Emde to return her mandate for the House of Representatives. The “Tagesspiegel” reports on this plan.

Emde is burdening the red-green-red coalition negotiations in the capital with its radical criticism of Israel. She has repeatedly questioned Israel's right to exist and expressed solidarity with the pro-Palestinian terror sympathizer Ibrahim Ibrahim. Emde rejects the left's participation in government. At the party conference, which voted with a large majority to negotiate a coalition with the SPD and the Greens, she preferred to demonstrate in front of the door.

Her provocations do not suggest that Emde is now bowing to pressure from the party leadership - especially since she was directly elected in Neukölln. What then? In the coming week, the Left parliamentary group board could request that Emde be excluded from the parliamentary group. According to »Tagesspiegel« there is an agreement to proceed in this way. All left-wing MPs would have to decide on this, with a two-thirds majority. This is now considered likely, and large parts of the group are annoyed by the constant involvement with Emde.

Nevertheless, it is questionable whether an exclusion will bring calm to the coalition talks. The anti-government camp in the party is likely to protest loudly against Emde's expulsion.

The ideal son-in-law: Congratulations, Ethan Hawke. The actor turns 56 today. However, he is annoyed that his son-in-law, musician Christian Lee Hutson, 36, was able to celebrate yesterday. "This guy has the nerve to have his birthday the day before mine," Hawke complained on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show." Hutson steals the show with his own daughter. The actress Maya Hawke, 28, known from “Stranger Things,” among others, has been married to Hutson since February. Daddy doesn't really mean the taunts seriously. Hawke made it clear: his son-in-law was a “great guy.”

Could you start with the new series “The Friesenjunkies”, which is available from today in the ARD media library. The improv dramedy, as ARD calls it, tells stories and fates from a luxury rehabilitation clinic on Sylt. Really now, you may be asking yourself, should I do this to myself?

My colleague Christian Buß has already done it. His verdict: Don't fool yourself, the viewer is exposed to quite brutal humorous pressure. “But the great thing,” says Christian, “is that despite the drug-induced woah! effect, there are believable characters vying for affection and to be seen.” The eight-part series, between binge drinking and heartache, sometimes achieves an unexpected beauty and depth.
