Railway industry opens sale of 300,000 train tickets for Lunar New Year 2027, prices increase 4-8%

About 300,000 train tickets for Tet Dinh Mui 2027 were opened for sale by the railway industry from the morning of September 5, of which the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route costs nearly 2.5-4 million VND, an increase of 4-8% compared to last year.

Tet train tickets begin to be widely sold from 8am at stations, agents and online channels. Each guest can buy a maximum of 10 departure tickets and 10 return tickets.

For group customers, the railway industry has accepted registration in advance, giving priority to the armed forces, universities, colleges, industrial parks, and export processing zones.

According to the plan, from January 23 to February 25, 2027 (December 16 to January 20), the railway industry will operate 57 trains with more than 800 cars, providing about 300,000 tickets. Additional ships will be added if demand increases.

In addition to 7 pairs of Thong Nhat trains running daily, the railway industry increased two pairs of trains from Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi and 11 pairs on short routes with great demand such as Saigon - Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet.

In the North and Central regions, trains were added on the Hanoi - Phu Ly, Vinh, and Da Nang routes; Hue - Da Nang. During the Tet holiday, crowded routes will also have additional trains to serve travel needs.

This year's Tet ticket prices increased by 4-8% compared to the same period last year, depending on travel date, car type and train. The Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route costs nearly 2.5-4 million VND. Some VIP cabins cost about 7.9 million VND per bed, for guests with private space needs.

Many passenger groups receive discounts. People who buy tickets 10 days in advance, with journeys over 900 km, receive a 5-20% discount; Groups of 11 people reduce 2-12%; Buy a round-trip ticket and get a 5% discount on the return trip; Students discount 10-20%.

Policy beneficiaries such as Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, disabled people and children from 6 to under 10 years old continue to enjoy reduced rates according to regulations.

The railway industry recommends that passengers buy tickets at the station, agents or official online channels, use identification documents to enjoy incentives and avoid buying through "ticket brokers". Tickets are also sold through popular e-wallets.
