New Samples Sent to Ankara University for Noah's Ark Research

It was reported that the samples will be analyzed in the Ankara University laboratory. Andrew Jones, Deputy Head of the Noah's Ark Research Project at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, said that radar scans and drilling studies were carried out in the region this year. Stating that radar scans detected steep angles, possible tunnels, layers and cavities underground, Jones stated that some anomalies were considered to be man-made. Within the scope of the work, drilling was done up to 18 meters at one point, while depths of 5, 6, 7 and 8 meters were drilled at other points. Jones said that in the soil research conducted in 2024, it was determined that there was 3 times more organic matter inside the boat-shaped area than in the area outside it. The new samples will be searched for decayed wood, animal remains and traces of human activities. It is expected that the analyzes will continue throughout the winter, and after the results are evaluated, a comprehensive report will be prepared at the beginning of summer next year.
