Murder in Settimo Torinese: details on Fabio Colapietro's crime

The crime

Fabio Colapietro, born in Chivasso and resident in Settimo Torinese, was 39 years old and his relatives had not heard from him for a few days. The murder apparently took place on September 21st in the apartment during a party based on "crack, hallucinogenic mushrooms, LSD, cannabis, mdphp (synthetic drug) and spirits", as specified by De Oliveira Morando's lawyer, Wilmer Perga. The 26-year-old's mother alerted the police, declaring that her son "hurt someone". Having intervened in the apartment where Nicole Formichetti lives, on the fourth floor of a building, the police found the remains of a human body torn to pieces. After searches and interrogations, in addition to Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, accused of murder and suppression of a corpse, Nicole Formichetti and Keith Butig were also arrested, both on charges of aiding and abetting the suppression of a corpse.

Nicole Formichetti's position

De Oliveira Morando spoke about the position of Formichetti, teacher of Italian at the Tommaso D'Oria Institute in Ciriè. “That teacher is like Satan,” the 26-year-old declared to his mother, intercepted in the waiting room of the Turin flying squad. According to the man's statements, reported in the investigating judge's order, "for the entire time the direction of the activity carried out was under the control of the teacher, the only one who aimed to find a way to throw away the body and return to a normal life". In the meantime, from the testimonies of Formichetti's neighbors it emerged that in the apartment there was "a constant coming and going of people during the day and in the evening". Furthermore, according to what emerged, the 47-year-old decided not to start the school year due to personal problems.

Formichetti's lawyer: "We will evaluate his emotional state"

Formichetti's lawyer, Chiara Perla Margherita Romano, specified that the 47-year-old is "emotionally in difficulty": "We will evaluate with our colleague from the defense team Alessandro Bellina whether or not to make any declarations, if it is possible with the emotional state of the lady", declared the lawyer. According to Romano, the teacher "was certainly emotionally in difficulty, not only because of the disputed fact, but also because it was her first imprisonment, her first criminal experience". De Oliveira Morando's lawyer, however, declared that in the next few days he will evaluate "whether to schedule an interrogation with the prosecutor for the young man, or whether to go to the Review for legal qualification". Then he added: "If the murder occurred during a struggle, it is not clear that it was intentional, so it could be unintentional." Keith Butig, the confessed criminal's lawyer underlined, was "the only person my client already knew and with whom he frequented Sempione park. She took him to Professor Formichetti's house, who he saw for the first time, just as he didn't know the victim, who arrived at a certain point in the party".
