Father Marcelo Rossi brings together 60 thousand people at the 39th edition of Hallel in Franca (SP)

According to the organizers, a chain of prayer and faith brought together 60,000 people at the Fernando Costa Exhibition Park, in Franca (SP), this Sunday (6) for Father Marcelo Rossi's mass at the 39th Hallel, one of the biggest evangelization festivals in the country.

The meeting was marked by moments of commotion, testimonies of overcoming personal problems and the priest's promise to return to the event in the 2027 edition.

"Today the Lord will perform miracles. I'm not kidding", said the priest, backstage, before going on stage for the celebration.

60 thousand people in prayer

The forecast of rain did not keep away the public, estimated at 60 thousand people at Father Marcelo's mass alone. During the celebration, the weather remained closed, but it did not rain. The priest himself shared that he spent the journey to Franca praying the rosary and asking for the weather to cooperate with the festival.

Among the crowd that followed the prayer chain were dozens of faithful who were looking for answers to overcome moments of pain and difficulties. Housewife Roseli Aparecida de Carvalho found support in mass to face the anguish of seeing her mother hospitalized.

"I feel like she's going to have this cure right now. I really believe that God is going to heal my mother through this mass," he reported.

Roseli's relationship of trust with Father Marcelo Rossi's prayers is old. She recalled the spiritual support she received through the priest's radio broadcasts 23 years ago, after the birth of her daughter.

"I was cured of postpartum depression, which I had when my daughter was born. It was through him that I received the cure", she stated.

Music and message of faith

Father Marcelo's celebration was accompanied by well-known songs, such as "Espírito", "Faz um Milagre em Mim", "Pai Nosso", "I'm Here", "Because He Lives" and "Noites Traiçoeiras", for moments of relaxation and reflection.

During the homily, the priest emphasized the importance of forgiveness and maintaining a fraternal heart, guiding people to pray even for those who hurt them.

The moment was reinforced with requests for the faithful not to lose faith in the face of everyday difficulties.

When talking about his own trajectory, Father Marcelo recalled the depression he faced in 2013, when he weighed 60 kilos — today he weighs 120 kilos.

He also recalled the episode in which he was pushed off the stage during a mass in 2019. "I'm standing because it's a miracle. The mother went ahead", he said, before singing the song "Maria Passa na Frente", recorded with Gusttavo Lima.

The most awaited announcement occurred when the founder of Hallel, Maria Teodora Lemos Silveira, Aunt Lolita, aged 93, took the stage to make an appeal. “We want you next year”, she invited, proposing the return of the priest in the 2027 edition.

The priest accepted the invitation and joked about how old he would be at the next Hallel. “Only that detail, you’re going to have to find a chair for me because I’m turning 60, I’m going to have to sit down”, he commented, drawing laughter from the audience.

At the end of the mass, the priest came down from the stage, walking down a corridor in the middle of the crowd to greet, hug and bless children, young people, adults and the elderly who were vying for space to be close to him.

Hallel 2026

The program for the 39th edition of Hallel in Franca continues this Monday (7), a national holiday, at the Fernando Costa Exhibition Park, with free entry.

The event features shows, preaching, masses and evangelization activities.
