Matysiak attacks Tusk: We will be given a series
I would like it to be decided who is involved in this scandal and to what extent. I think that Poles are not very interested in cryptoassets themselves. Contrary to what is said that this is the leading topic. I bet that we - the public opinion - but also politicians will be treated to such a series related to what is happening in the Zondacrypto proceedings. Who else testified, who blamed whom, she said, emphasizing that so far "not much has come out of it."
The presenter asked about the testimony of Przemysław Krall, president of Zondacrypto. Let us remind you: during Friday's speech in the Sejm, Prime Minister Donald Tusk recalled fragments of the testimony of the main witness in the Zondacrypto scandal. They concerned, among others, Zbigniew Ziobro and his wife Patrycja Kotecka. Zbyszek read the files (...). He promised that when he returns to the Ministry of Justice, which he is sure of, he will put an end to all these matters; so that I don't worry"; "The compensation will be paid to Ziobro through the foundation; we agreed on a total amount of PLN 2 million - said the Prime Minister then.
The head of government further quoted that "Patrycja Kotecka", the wife of Zbigniew Ziobro, played the main role in this procedure, and the person who testified was to pay PLN 500,000. for the foundation, which "Ziobro was supposed to pay for his own needs." The Prime Minister quoted another quote from the Prosecutor General's report: "Ziobro was scared. He recently withdrew the money from the foundation and used it for his own needs."
Matysiak said it was shocking.
However, it must also be clearly stated that the excerpts presented in the Sejm by Prime Minister Donald Tusk are simply excerpts. I think that the Prime Minister was not interested in presenting the information he received in the most objective way possible, but used it in his political games. We still do not have any solutions that would regulate this sector in any way, she added.
She emphasized that "we need any solutions to protect those people who invest their funds or savings in cryptocurrencies in such a very risky way."
Matysiak: We will not ban cryptocurrencies, but...
When asked whether cryptocurrencies should be banned, she replied: of course we will not ban them, but we as a country should certainly warn against it and should not tolerate it. She emphasized that currently "we have no supervision over what is simply happening there." And in fact, people need to be told that they can lose their money and savings this way, she said.
Paulina Matysiak, head of the road safety team, was also asked about how to solve the problem of road pirates in Poland. She stated that the best solution to combat drivers who pose a threat to the safety of other people by driving fast is severe penalties. We see what it looks like. Recently we had a dramatic accident in Krakow... - she said
She also emphasized that "the number of victims is decreasing."
Of course, these estimates are perhaps not satisfactory, and it is difficult to be happy when road deaths continue to occur. And it is always a tragedy for loved ones, but here more solutions should simply be introduced, she said.
"We like to drive fast"
As an example, she gave suspension and withdrawal of driving license for three months. She also pointed out that "we live in a culture where we simply like to drive fast." As she mentioned, ministers do not want to make decisions related to introducing restrictions on these fastest roads.
She also referred to situations that occur in Poland from time to time. These are drivers who enter between barriers, e.g. on railway tracks, but in the face of danger (e.g. an approaching train) they are afraid to break the barrier. It's these drivers' fault, or is there something wrong with railway crossings in Poland? - asked the host Grzegorz Sroczyński.
Most often, it is the fault of drivers and, unfortunately, also of professional drivers, because there are situations where truck drivers also enter, and perhaps in addition to the penalties that these people may face today, we should consider whether to apply another new procedure and treat these people simply as terrorists, because these people simply have no chance against the oncoming train - she said, adding that in this way they "endanger the health and lives of both train employees and passengers."
