Beaten in Porto Istana, Milanese promoter reports homophobic attack

He and the three friends who had tried to help him were beaten at the end of an evening by his queer collective 'Biscotto della Fortune', a well-known reality on the Milanese scene, on the beach in Porto Istana, not far from Olbia, by a pack of around thirty people, who left him bleeding on the ground and also damaged his equipment: this is what Angelo Ratti, a thirty-nine-year-old promoter, reported on his social media and also to the police.

"Thirty against one" he said, speaking of the "homophobic" attack that occurred before the mid-August holiday.

"A brutal homophobic attack" reads the fundraiser launched online to support him and the other people involved with legal and healthcare costs and to recover the material. "Every contribution, even the smallest, is much more than a donation: it means transforming indignation into care, defense and concrete possibility. It means telling Angelo and all the direct and indirect victims that they are not alone. It means demonstrating that the community is much stronger than those who hate."

What remains after the expenses have been recovered will be donated to the Milano Checkpoint association. And solidarity with Angelo came from Milan Checkpoint and organizations such as the Masada club and the Amelia club, while according to what some newspapers reported on the attack, an investigation was opened by the Tempio Pausania prosecutor's office.
