Poles are European volleyball champions after defeating France in the final

Saturday's final of the European Volleyball Championships, which was played in Milan, Italy, was a rematch of the last final of the Olympic Games in France in 2024. Then, "Trójcolor" gave no chance to Nikola Grbic's players, winning 3-0. This time, the White and Reds came out on top and defended the title of the best six in the Old Continent.

The first two sets went to the White and Reds, who defeated France 31:29 and 25:19. The third set was the awakening of the "Tricolors", who returned to the game thanks to their very good play and finally won against the defender of the trophy 25:22. The victory of the Polish volleyball players in the grand final and the entire tournament was decided in the fourth set, in which our volleyball players prevailed 25:16.

The gold medal won in Italy also gives the Poles qualifications for the Olympics in Los Angeles.

The two teams also met in the final of the European Championship in 2009 - in Izmir, the Poles won 3:1 and triumphed in a tournament of this rank for the first time. They did it for the second time three years ago in Rome, when they defeated the Italians 3-0 in the final.
