Manchester City accused of financial breaches: 114 of 115 charges confirmed

On Friday, the media in the British Isles circulated the information that Manchester City was found guilty of as many as 114 of all 115 charges that the Polish authorities issued against "The Citizens".

The Athletic, citing sources familiar with the matter, reports that City's guilt has been confirmed. The Premier League's investigation is still ongoing and significant elements of it remain to be concluded and are subject to strict confidentiality. Therefore, Manchester City's position remains consistent with the club's statement of February 2023, said a Manchester City spokesman in an interview with a British daily. There is nothing strange in this club's narrative, after all, City has denied the allegations made in this matter by the English league authorities from the very beginning.

Three years earlier, the Manchester club - in response to allegations of, among others, fraud - issued a statement expressing "surprise at the allegations." It was also emphasized that the matter should be investigated by an independent commission, which was established. However, it seems that the confusion surrounding the club is not over, on the contrary. The British daily reported that Manchester City will most likely exercise the right to appeal.

Comment by the club president

The president of Manchester City, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, also commented on the matter. He stated that "the club is confident in its ability to prove its innocence." In Saturday's open letter to fans, Al Mubarak also stated that "the trial is far from over and the club's belief in its own innocence is as strong as at the very beginning."
