São Paulo beats Corinthians 2-1 in the first leg of the Brasileirão Feminino A1 final

This Saturday (26), São Paulo met history at the Neo Química Arena. The Soberanas defeated Corinthians 2-1, in the first leg of the final of the Brazilian Women's Championship A1, which was broadcast live on TV Brasil. The result represented the first defeat for the Timão women's team at the stadium. Since 2016, there have been 32 games, with 29 wins and three draws so far. Next Saturday (3), at Morumbis, Tricolor may have another encounter with history.

A draw will be enough to guarantee the Sovereigns' first Brazilian title and interrupt the rival's run of six trophies. To achieve another victory, Brabas will have to win away from home. A victory by a goal difference will lead to the definition of the champion for penalties and a victory by a greater margin will give Timão the title.

In front of more than 21 thousand people at the Neo Química Arena, Corinthians had their best moment right from the beginning. After four minutes, Vic Albuquerque received the ball at the edge of the area, shot it in the chest and shot over the top, creating danger. At nine, the first goal came: Vic received it on the right and crossed it to Gabi Zanotti's head. Positioned between the tricolor defenders, she tested the back of the net.

Owner of the best campaign in the initial phase, São Paulo recovered relatively quickly. The equalizer came after 20 minutes. After a cross from the right, Crivelari, infiltrated between the rival defenders, completed it first time to beat goalkeeper Nicole.

The Sovereigns still had two great chances to score in the first half: first, Robinha took advantage of an error in the Corinthians ball and shot hard, in effect, to the left of the goal. Shortly afterwards, Isa Guimarães received the ball in the middle of the black and white defense, already inside the area and shot weakly, out wide.

In the second half, coach Emily Lima was forced to withdraw Gabi Zanotti due to an injury. Jhonson took his place and became a constant threat in the air. In one of these moves, she headed to the left of the goal defended by Carlinha. The ball hit the net from the outside, deceiving many fans.

Soon after, São Paulo underwent surgery. In another mistake when the ball was released by Timão, Isa Guimarães received it deep and touched it lightly, as goalkeeper Nicole left it, to turn the score around.

Organized on the field, Tricolor managed to contain the opponent's attacks and pose some danger in counterattacks. Insisting on the balls sent into the area, Brabas were unsuccessful. The last big chance came in the last nine minutes of added time. When trying to make a throw-in, goalkeeper Carlinha put one of her feet outside the area. Foul for Corinthians.

In the kick, however, Duda Sampaio shot weakly, in the middle of the goal, and Carlinha held on.

The final whistle that came soon after was accompanied by an effusive celebration from the tricolor players, aware of the history that had just been made.
