Praise from the Polish Minister of Defense to the Turkish Defense Industry

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz praised the giant leap made by the Turkish defense industry in recent years in his speech at the opening of the 34th International Defense Industry Fair held in Kielce on September 8-11.

'Türkiye MADE A HUGE LEAP'

Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Türkiye not only produces and purchases for its own needs, but also exports and encourages exports. Minister of Defense Kosiniak-Kamysz said, "This is a model we want to implement in Poland as well. Turkey has made a giant leap. It has experienced a great transformation in 20 years. In the past, it produced only 20 percent of the equipment required for its own needs and purchased 80 percent from abroad. Today, it has completely reversed these rates." Kosiniak-Kamysz said that as of today, the ratio in Poland is 50 to 50 percent.

'WE ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITY'

Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that, as the government, they assumed full responsibility for the construction of a strong and safe Poland, and that the ongoing war in Ukraine made them understand how dangerous a period they were living in. "As the Polish government and the majority in the parliament, we assume full responsibility for the construction of a strong and secure Poland. No obstacle placed in front of us will stop our march towards the establishment of safe borders, strengthening our army and equipping Polish army soldiers with the best personal equipment," said Kosiniak-Kamysz, adding that his country has now become not only a purchasing but also a producing country.

Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed his honor at the exhibition of the prototype of the new 40-ton heavy armored combat vehicle, developed by the Polish Armament Group based on the amphibious armored combat vehicle Borsuk, and said, "Let's believe in our own power and build it, because only the strong want to defend."
