President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated this Sunday that the National High School Exam (Enem), by mobilizing thousands of people, represents a “war for education” and highlighted the participation of elderly people in the tests.

The speech took place after visiting the monitoring room at the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) in Brasília, where technicians from the Ministry of Education, responsible for applying Enem, monitor the logistical processes throughout Brazil.

Can you go to the bathroom during the test?

Yes! The candidate can go to the bathroom during the Enem, but must ask for permission and will be accompanied by an inspector. It is not permitted to take a cell phone or other prohibited objects. Time spent in the bathroom is not added to the test time.

Will Inep use artificial intelligence to correct the test?

The official Enem 2026 wording continues to be corrected by human evaluators. Each text goes through two correctors, who assign grades according to five skills.

When will the Enem 2026 score come out?

The Enem 2026 grades are expected to be released in January 2027, but there is still no specific day confirmed. Candidates will be able to check their grades in the four areas of knowledge and writing on the Participant's Page, using their Gov.br account.

Do they provide proof of attendance?

Yes, but you need to bring the document ready! The candidate must access the Participant Page, download and print the declaration of attendance before the test. On the day of the exam, the document must be presented to the room manager for signature. The test location does not provide a printed declaration.

Can I take cookies in the package or do I need to put them in a container?

Answer: You can take cookies in the original packaging! Inep allows candidates to bring snacks to consume during the test. The rule is that the food is available for inspection by the head of the room, if necessary. There is no requirement to place the cookies in a transparent container.

What time can I leave with the question book?

On the first day, the test ends at 7pm, but the candidate can leave with the question book from 6:30pm, in the last 30 minutes of the application. Anyone who wants to leave early can leave the place two hours after the start of the test, that is, at 3:30 pm, but without taking their notebook.

What happens if I don't show up?

If the candidate only misses the 1st Sunday, they can still participate on the 2nd day. Absence may also have consequences for those who were exempt from the fee: depending on the rules of the next notice, it will be necessary to justify the absence to request a new free fee.
