Temporary teacher is fired in Rifaina (SP) after threatening to kill students and teachers

A temporary teacher was fired last Monday (14) in Rifaina (SP) on suspicion of threatening to kill students and colleagues at a state school. A 13-year-old student, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that the teacher said he would kill her and set fire to the school with a bomb to kill other people.

"He said he was going to kill me and that when he killed everyone, he was going to set fire to the school with a bomb. He was going to blow up everyone inside, there wouldn't be a wake."

In a statement, the State Department of Education reported that it repudiates the aforementioned teacher's behavior and reinforces its commitment to the safety of the entire school community.

Threats and post on social media

The case took place at the Professora Henriqueta Rivera Miranda State School, which serves elementary school students.

According to the student, after the threats, she stopped attending the math teacher's classes. Last Friday (11), upon arriving at school, colleagues said that the teacher had said he would carry out a massacre.

"And then on Friday I went to school and they told me that he was going to commit a massacre. Before telling the girls that, he had already told me. He changed. At the beginning [of the year] he was fine, then he started saying that. He even had a few fights with the teacher and he said that the teacher would be the first [to die]."

A post attributed to the professor on a profile he used on the social network shows an image apparently made using artificial intelligence. An adult holds a gun behind his back, while students in uniform point their fingers at the man. The photo was accompanied by the caption "if you disrespected me and I remained silent, don't trust me anymore."

The publication caused fear among students and parents, who went to the school to ask the management for action.

What the school management says

In a note, the Regional Education Unit (URE) of Franca (SP), responsible for the school in Rifaina, reported that it terminated the teacher last Monday and registered a police report.

"As provided for in the terms of the professional's temporary employment contract, the right to demonstrate within three working days is guaranteed. URE Franca awaits this presentation for further deliberation."

According to URE, the case was included on the platform of the Coexistence Improvement and School Protection Program (Conviva-SP). Ronda Escolar was also asked to provide support for the unit's security.

Security reinforcement

Despite this, a mother of a student, who also preferred not to be identified, said that no security reinforcements were carried out at the school.

"The confusion was yesterday, but today there was no police at the entrance to the school, at the exit, I didn't see any guards passing by. I, on behalf of all the mothers, am afraid and ask for help from the responsible sectors. Even though he is no longer there, we are still very afraid at the entrance and exit."

According to the woman, her daughter is in exam week and she had to stay at school to reassure the girl.

"She is terrified. We are very worried. Even though the principal informed us that he is away from school, we are afraid."

g1 contacted the State Department of Education to find out about the security reinforcement and was informed that the request was made to the Department of Public Security (SSP).

When contacted, the SSP did not comment on the matter until the last update of this report.
