Trial of Fabian's death: cell phone data does not provide any clarity

In the trial surrounding the violent death of eight-year-old Fabian, an analysis of cell phone data probably did not provide any clarity. A spokesman for the public prosecutor's office admitted this after a police officer presented the results to the Rostock regional court.

Perhaps the evaluation will not provide any major information, especially since the location data was switched off, said the spokesman. The data was actually intended to provide information about where the 30-year-old defendant was at the time of the crime.

The defendant sees himself as a victim of domestic violence

The defendant Gina H. once again commented on her relationship with little Fabian's father. The 30-year-old said that he not only hit her but also his children several times. She tried to protect the children. Gina H. justified her early experiences with violence as the reason why she did not separate from her partner.

The public prosecutor accuses the defendant Gina H. of luring the boy out of his apartment in Güstrow near Rostock last October and stabbing him to death at a pond near Klein Upahl. After the crime, she burned Fabian's body.

The public prosecutor suspects a relationship act

The public prosecutor's office bases its charges on witnesses who say they saw Gina H.'s pickup truck in Klein Upahl on the day Fabian died. She assumes that the defendant's temporary separation from Fabian's father is connected to the crime. Gina H. denies having committed the crime.

Public interest in the process is very high. People had been queuing in front of the Rostock regional court since 2 a.m. to be able to attend the 27th day of the proceedings in the courtroom.
