Putin Completes 3-Hour Meeting with Trump's Representatives in Moscow

Russian official news agency TASS reported that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump's Middle East Special Representative Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner ended. While no details regarding the content of the meeting were shared, no official statement has been made by the parties yet.

Witkoff and Kushner left the Kremlin Palace accompanied by a convoy after the meeting that lasted more than 3 hours. US representatives are expected to hold talks in Ukraine tomorrow.

STATEMENT FROM RUSSIA

Kremlin Foreign Policy Advisor Yuriy Ushakov made statements to journalists in the capital Moscow about the visit of US President Donald Trump's special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow.

Pointing out that this was his eighth visit, Ushakov noted that US representatives were received by Putin.

Stating that the meeting lasted approximately 3 hours and was constructive, trust-based and useful, Ushakov stated that the solution of the Ukrainian crisis and other current issues were discussed during the meeting.

"IT WAS EMPHASIS THAT THE BASIC CAUSES OF THE CRISIS MUST BE ELIMINATED"

Ushakov stated that Putin appreciated the mediating role of the United States on the Ukraine issue and thanked Trump for his attempts to resolve the issue, adding:

"At the meeting, extremely serious issues were discussed. The Russian side made comprehensive assessments of the situation during the special military operation (in Ukraine). It was stated that the Russian army was advancing on the front and the set goals would be achieved. Of course, it was emphasized that the root causes of the crisis should be eliminated. Putin confirmed that he was ready to continue joint efforts with the Americans to find political and diplomatic solutions to the issue."

Pointing out that the US representatives will go to Kiev after their contacts in Moscow, Ushakov said, "Witkoff and Kushner promised that they will use Putin's evaluations regarding a permanent peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis in their contacts in Kiev tomorrow." he said.

Ushakov stated that the US representatives were seriously preparing for this visit and said, "They not only expressed their desire for the conflicts to end as soon as possible, but also offered various suggestions regarding possible solutions." he said.

"DURING THE MEETING, ECONOMIC ISSUES WERE DISCUSSED"

Sharing Putin's information that the relations between Russia and the USA were also discussed during the meeting, Ushakov said, "Economic issues and large and mutually beneficial projects that can be implemented between Russia and the USA were discussed in detail." he said.
