Spatial planning of Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas with a 100-year vision

The Hanoi master plan with a 100-year vision identifies the historical center area, including Hoan Kiem Lake and the surrounding area, as a space with special value in history, culture, architecture, landscape and plays an important role in the central urban structure of the Capital.

The Hoan Kiem Lake area and the surrounding area will be planned as a large square, connecting the August Revolution Square and the Opera House, forming a "History - Culture - Art" space. In the photo is Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square - Hoa Binh Square with the symbolic work "Triumphal Arch".

The city will focus on beautifying and reorganizing the space of Cau Go street, increasing the connection between the street and Hoa Binh square. The roadbed and sidewalks are paved in sync with the square, creating a unified appearance and shaping the walking street space.

Strips of low shrubs, flower beds and high-level trees are added along the sidewalk, creating green areas and shade. The plan not only maintains the existing identity, but also creates a neat, harmonious and formal appearance for the street.
