Renan Santos (Mission) stated this Tuesday (8) that "the next president must go to confront the STF". The speech by the candidate for President of the Republic occurs in the context of the latest developments in the Master case, whose PF reports showed an exchange of messages between Daniel Vorcaro and authorities from the Three Powers, including Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court.
In an interview with TV Jovem Pan, the Missão candidate explained that he changed his opinion about the approach to the STF, which initially, if elected, was to avoid a direct fight.
"If the STF has the current composition with Dias Toffoli and Alexandre de Moraes, it means that the crisis was maintained and carried forward into the next term. This means that we will have a permanently broken and divided country. Therefore, the next president will have to act on removing both Alexandre and Dias Toffoli from the STF", stated Renan.
The candidate also said that he will not recognize decisions that come from Moraes or Toffoli, claiming that they are "illegitimate ministers". "They are occupying an illegitimate position in the STF. They operated in favor of a corrupt bank that bought the Republic," he said.
In the interview, Renan also spoke about Minister Dias Toffoli's decision, which suspended the candidate's right to campaign on social media due to an inconsistency in his social media statement. The presidential candidate called the measure “a pen of revenge”.
The topic was the subject of another interview that Renan Santos gave, also this Tuesday, to Mathias TV. The candidate revealed that he was "stunned" by the decision, and that the minister "shocked" by backtracking.
"When I saw the content of the decision, I said that it would have to be reversed, or there would be no elections this year. And then I said: 'I'm going to double down until the end'. He was the one who made the mistake here, it was Toffoli. And he was trapped. I said: 'I'm going to squeeze this guy like an orange. I'm going to take everything I can from him there', and it worked. I saw that he was very weak", he argued.
Among Renan Santos' proposals, the candidate highlighted that, if elected, he will work for a new Constitution. According to the Missão candidate, the current Magna Carta is "an impediment to any type of Brazilian economic growth or gains in the area of sovereignty".
"We have linked expenses, which is crazy for the Constitution to link expenses and, at the same time, you don't face crime internally. We see our lives getting worse, human rights not being respected, but on paper it's all written as if it were a letter from Santa Claus", he argued.
In the candidate's assessment, however, the current composition of the National Congress would make a new Constitution "terrible". The presidential candidate suggested a political reform with the choice of a new Constituent Assembly, with the establishment of a quarantine for political life.
"All Brazilians elected to participate in a Constituent Assembly cannot participate in political activity for 12 years. And why? Because then you remove from the Constituent Assembly everyone interested in doing business and everyone interested in having their political careers", he proposed.
During the interviews, the Missão candidate also criticized opponents in the electoral race. Regarding Augusto Cury (Avante), Renan Santos said that the writer, who currently occupies third place in recent electoral polls, is a “non-issue”.
"Cury is a piece of cake. He doesn't resist contradictions. There is no need to have an opinion on any subject, because the beauty of Cury is not having an opinion", he stated.
Renan Santos also criticized Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) and recalled the senator's alleged involvement with the Master case.
"People have every incentive to become bad politicians and steal. In Brazil, you steal, you are a thief, you receive money from Daniel Vorcaro, you go to the election, and people go out on the street applauding you. Look at Flávio Bolsonaro yesterday: the guy received money from Daniel Vorcaro and there were people 'oh my God, he fights against corruption'", he said.
Finally, Renan Santos also criticized President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and assessed that the PT member will not be able to free himself from the latest events in the crisis between the Powers.
"Lula will be dragged into this crisis, especially because those involved in the crisis have already clearly warned that he is supposed to interfere in favor of his group at the STF. Dino, Gilmar, Toffoli and Xandão's group is Lula's group at the STF", he concluded.
