Pisa 2026 results: a historic decline in school performance in France and around the world

In France, we almost end up getting used to the Pisa hammer blow which, every three years, shows the continued deterioration of academic performance among students aged 15.

But this year, the results of young French people are the lowest ever measured by Pisa for more than 20 years, in reading comprehension, mathematics and science.

Unveiled this September 8, the international Pisa 2026 ranking (*) produced by the OECD has an air of apocalypse. He notes that results are falling all over the world.

Invaded by screens, consumed with social networks, assisted in their academic and personal lives by ChatGPT and other generational AI tools, students in the 91 countries studied show, with rare exceptions, a staggering decline in their results, especially in reading comprehension.
