Senator Mara Gabrilli responds to André do Prado's criticisms about parliamentarians' lack of knowledge

Senator Mara Gabrilli (PSD-SP) responded this Friday (4) to candidate André do Prado (PL), who stated, at an event in São Caetano (SP), that the state's current representatives are unknown and distant from the population.

"André do Prado seems to be too concerned with criticizing others to try to stand out. There must be a lack of work in his life," she said.

As the Panel showed, Prado, candidate for the Senate, mocked the three parliamentarians in the House at an event on Wednesday (2), asking if anyone in the audience knew who they were. The criticism included, in addition to Mara, a member of his own party, Marcos Pontes, and Alexandre Giordano (Podemos).

According to the senator, who will not run for re-election and will seek a mandate as state deputy, her performance "speaks for itself".

"Throughout my career in Congress, there have been more than a thousand legislative proposals with a real impact on the lives of the Brazilian population, not counting the more than R$760 million allocated to our state, taking resources to municipalities in all regions and helping mayors to get projects off the ground", he declared. She added that she recently unlocked new loans for the capital.

"I think it's a shame that he doesn't follow any of this — especially for someone who wants to be a senator. Before wanting to occupy a seat in the Senate, perhaps it's better to study what a senator does and get to know the work of those who are already there," he said.
