Six out of ten Swedes now use AI services – an increase of 50 percent in one year

Six out of ten Swedes now use AI services. This is an increase of 50 percent compared to the previous year. This is according to a survey conducted by the Internet Foundation.

Previously, it was mainly younger people who used AI, but according to the survey, there has been a rapid increase. It has mainly occurred among those born in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

- Now we have reached the point where AI is starting to become practically useful for many, says Måns Jonasson.

Advice in love relationships

How AI is used still differs slightly between the different age groups. Older people often use AI as a search engine or for practical help, says Måns Jonasson.

- Young people are more likely to use AI as a friend, to ask for advice, even advice in love relationships.

Måns Jonasson believes that the increase we are now seeing will continue. This is due, among other things, to AI being built into more and more other services.

- You get AI answers even when you do a normal search in a search engine today. This will continue, AI will be just everywhere, all the time, he says.

Don't double check

The survey also shows that 25 percent of Swedes who use AI rarely or never double-check answers against another source. This is what the Internet Foundation would like to change.

- It is important that you learn that you cannot trust one hundred percent what the AI ​​says. That you simply take it with a pinch of salt.

- Then it can be a fantastic tool, states Måns Jonasson.
