Call for Statement from Retired Civil Servants, Victims of Seyyanen Raise, before the Constitutional Court

Since Seyyanen raise was given only to working civil servants and not to retired civil servants, the widening gap between the salaries of retired and working civil servants caused the impoverishment of retired civil servants.

As of today, one-third of the civil servant salary consists of a rectilinear raise, and since this rectilinear raise is not reflected in their pensions, hundreds of thousands of working civil servants, although they deserve retirement, cannot retire due to their low pensions and concerns about not being able to make ends meet. For this reason, many people have to work until the age of 65, despite their advancing age and many chronic diseases. Since the positions are not vacant because the working civil servants do not retire, the young population cannot be appointed as civil servants. Unemployment is also increasing because the young population cannot be employed.

Stating that this unlawfulness has been going on for 39 months, the retired civil servant emphasizes that he has no power to endure financially. Retired civil servants, as other retirees also demand, want to be paid the pension they deserve in order to live a life worthy of human dignity.

PENSIONERS WILL GO TO THE Constitutional Court

In this context, Honorary Member of the 7th Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Appeals, Seyfettin Çilesiz, filed a raise lawsuit. A press release will be made tomorrow with the participation of Seyfettin Çilesiz, Lawyer Ali Erdem Gündoğan and 25 retired associations, unions and confederations that make up the Seyyanen Raise Raise Victims Platform, in order for the application, which is currently under review at the Constitutional Court, to be decided as soon as possible.
