444 suspects were arrested in cybercrime operations

NEWS CENTER - 444 of the suspects caught in the operations carried out within the scope of the work carried out in coordination with the Department of Combating Cyber ​​Crimes of the General Directorate of Security, MASAK and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office were arrested.

The following details were shared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

"826 suspects were caught in the operations carried out by our police in the last 5 days within the scope of the fight against Cyber Crimes. 444 of the suspects caught in the operations carried out in 36 provinces for the crimes of "Illegal Betting, Online Child Obscenity and Harassment, Aggravated Fraud, Laundering of Assets Originated from Crime" were arrested. Judicial control provisions were applied to 254 of them. The proceedings of the others are continuing.

Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security, Department of Combating Cyber Crimes, MASAK and the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor; As a result of the studies carried out by the Provincial Police Departments' Anti-Cyber Crimes Branch Directorates, it was determined that the suspects caught during the operations carried out in 36 provinces were engaging in illegal betting and gambling, intermediating money transfer on illegal betting sites, advertising illegal betting and gambling sites, providing unauthorized access to our citizens' mobile banking and gaming accounts, containing obscene images of children, and defrauding our citizens through social media platforms.
