6 arrests, including mother and father, in the investigation of missing baby Büşra in Sivas

While the investigation of 11-month-old Büşra Balıkçı, who has been missing for 7 days in Divriği district of Sivas, continues, the statements of the other children of the family who were taken under protection were taken. Mehmet K., who the children claimed in their statements to have taken their sister Büşra away from the tent, was detained in Diyarbakır.

WHAT HAPPENED TO BUSRA BABY?

According to the news in DHA; Mother Elif Balıkçı (27), who is engaged in animal husbandry in Göndüren village of Divriği district of Sivas, reported that her 11-month-old baby Büşra was missing around 22:00 on September 10. Thereupon, a search operation began in the region, and the Divriği Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident.

Mother Elif Balıkçı, who was detained within the scope of the investigation into the incident, claimed in her first statements that her child was sold for money. However, Elif Balıkçı later changed her statement and claimed that her daughter was killed by her husband Yusuf Balıkçı and left on the land.

"THE FATHER KILLED MY CHILD"

Elif Balıkçı said that she had previously made a false statement because she was afraid, and filed a complaint against her husband, saying, "His father Yusuf killed my child, took him to the stony land 1-2 kilometers away, above the tents, and left him."

Within the scope of the investigation, Elif Balıkçı and her husband Yusuf Balıkçı, their relatives, the person who reported it to the gendarmerie, and veterinarian Mehmet Ç. A total of 10 people were detained, including Mehmet D., who was found to be asking suspicious questions.

In the following process, veterinarian Mehmet Ç. was released on condition of judicial control. In addition, the other 4 siblings of the missing baby were taken under protection on 13 September and placed in Sivas 4 Eylül Children's Home.

A NEW SUSPECT WAS CAUGHT

R.B., one of the children of the family, rested at the Children's House on September 16, accompanied by a social worker. and H.B. stated that a person named Mehmet K., to whom their father owed money, entered the tent and took away their sister Büşra in return for the debt. Mother Elif Balıkçı, whose statement was taken again upon this statement, claimed that she gave her previous statements under the guidance of her husband Yusuf Balıkçı and her older sister Rahime Budak. Following this development, suspect Mehmet K. was caught and detained in Diyarbakır yesterday.

THE MOTHER CHANGED HER STATEMENT ONCE AGAIN

In her statement taken again by the prosecutor's office yesterday, Elif Balıkçı, who had given different statements twice before, claimed that her son told her about the incident of Büşra being taken from the tent, but that she did not see Mehmet K. taking Büşra from the tent, that she knew that Yusuf owed money to Mehmet and that he always wanted to, and that she had given the statements she had given so far as a result of the guidance of her husband Yusuf and her sister Rahime.

6 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED INCLUDING THE MOTHER AND THE FATHER

Among the suspects whose statements were completed and sent to the courthouse, father Yusuf Balıkçı and mother Elif Balıkçı were arrested and sent to prison on the charge of "deliberately killing a child descendant", and their relatives Rahime Budak, Özcan Budak, Mithat Balıkçı and Mehmet Resul Balıkçı were arrested on the charges of "destroying, concealing or altering criminal evidence" and "favoring the criminal". The other 3 suspects were released on condition of judicial control.

SEARCH EFFORTS CONTINUE IN THE REGION

On the other hand, the work started on September 10 to find a trace of Büşra Balıkçı in the İncedere Plateau region of Göndüren village, where the family lives, continues today. Starting from the entrance of Göndüren village, civilians are not allowed to enter or exit the area.
