A curry shop owner was re-arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl he met on SNS

The Metropolitan Police Department announced on the 18th that a curry shop owner (42) from Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, was re-arrested on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse and violation of the Act Prohibiting Child Prostitution and Child Pornography (manufacturing) for sexually assaulting a teenage girl he met on social media. He is said to be keeping quiet.

According to the First Investigation Division, the man is suspected of putting the girl in his car and taking her to a hotel in Tokyo between 1pm and 3pm on July 22nd, sexually assaulting her, and filming the incident with his smartphone.

According to investigators, the man began sending messages to the girl on social media in May and began communicating with her.

On July 27, the girl's mother called 110 saying she couldn't contact her daughter, and it was determined from the location information on the girl's smartphone that she was at a hotel in Tokyo. Police officers found the girl inside the hotel, took her into custody, and arrested the man who was with her on suspicion of having non-consensual sex.

Later, based on the girl's explanation, it was discovered that they had met at the same hotel on the same day on the 22nd when the suspect was arrested, and an investigation was underway.

Approximately 200 obscene videos and images of multiple women, which are believed to have been taken by him, were found on the man's smartphone and other devices that were confiscated, and the department is investigating the circumstances.
