Meeting of Minister Radosław Sikorski with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran in New York

According to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers discussed bilateral relations, the international situation in the region and possible directions of its development.

The Iranian embassy in Poland said they discussed "ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and remove obstacles to this cooperation."

Aragchi presented Iran's position on events in West Asia. "He described the current unsafe situation in the Strait of Hormuz as the result of aggressive actions by the United States and stressed the importance of all countries, including European countries, adopting a fundamental position condemning the military aggression against Iran, as well as the crimes committed during it," the Iranian embassy wrote on its account on X.

The Iranian minister also expressed concern about the "prolonged conflict in Ukraine."

"He considered the attempts of some parties to shift responsibility and link this conflict with events in the West Asian region as dangerous. He emphasized the importance of a responsible approach of European countries to issues relating to this continent," the outlet reported.

Radosław Sikorski has been in New York since Monday in connection with the session of the UN General Assembly.
