Early elections of the president of Krakow: Election evening on RMF FM and Polsat News

The special program on RMF FM will start at 20:00. It will be hosted by Paweł Jawor, and Tomasz Staniszewski will be the host of Fakty RMF FM during the election evening. The station's reporters will be in the headquarters of the most important candidates, from where they will provide the first reactions and comments on an ongoing basis.

At The election evening of Radio RMF24 will begin at 8:45 p.m., also broadcast on the RMF24 YouTube channel. The program will be hosted by Piotr Salak, and he will be joined in the studio by politicians, including: Aleksandra Kot, Ireneusz Raś and Łukasz Kmita, as well as experts, activists, representatives of business and culture, including Rafał Sonik and actor Mateusz Janicki. Together they will comment on the results of the first round and talk about their importance for the city.

During the election evening, we will also give the vote to the inhabitants of Krakow. Their opinions and comments will be an important element of the program, allowing for a broad look at the course of the elections and social mood.

Election evening is produced in cooperation with Polsat News. Journalists from both editorial offices will prepare joint reports from the candidates' staffs and interviews that will appear on RMF FM, Radio RMF24 and Polsat News.

Early elections for the president of Krakow – the most important information

On Sunday, September 27, the inhabitants of Krakow will elect a new mayor of the city. Early elections were announced after Aleksander Miszalski was dismissed in the referendum. Seven candidates will fight for the presidency after Jan Hoffman resigned.

The first round of elections will take place on September 27. Polling stations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Voting will be held in 454 districts, of which 412 are permanent districts and 42 are additional districts, including: in hospitals and jails. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes, a second round will be held on October 11.

Who can vote?

People permanently residing in Krakow have the right to vote. In these elections, it is not possible to change the voting place once or collect a certificate of voting rights. To take part in the elections, you must have an updated permanent address in the Central Register of Voters. Persons who have not completed the formalities should submit an application for permanent residence registration or inclusion in the permanent voting circuit at the Department of Administrative Affairs.
