Organizers said the debate format will include opening statements, cross-examination between candidates, media questions and closing statements.
Democratic Progressive Party legislator Wu Siyao, Shen Boyang's campaign general manager, said the two sides had different views on the date and time, although Shen Boyang's team remained flexible.
Chinese Kuomintang legislator Luo Zhiqiang (罗志强), representing Chiang Wanan, said Chiang Wanan's campaign is open to hosting more debates and has accepted invitations from other media outlets.
The debate will be held on the same day as this year’s Taipei Pride Parade. The parade will set off from the Taipei City Hall Square at 2:05 pm and pass through the Taipei East District business district. A rally will be held before the parade at 12 noon.
Wu Siyao said that Shen Boyang will participate in the parade, while Luo Zhiqiang said that Jiang Wanan will also participate in the event, just as the two have done for many years.

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan advocated the relocation of Songshan Airport, but lawyer Huang Diying pointed out that there were three major fallacies in his statement: First, he opposed the relocation during the 2022 election campaign but agreed that the relocation would be beneficial to urban development in the 2023 Taipei City Government official document, which is inconsistent; second, the official document did not explain the national security concerns that questioned Wu Yinong; third, the official document was only one page and did not show a feasibility assessment, which was suspected to be hastily raised due to an election emergency.

U.S. President Trump overturned Defense Secretary Hegseth's decision to cancel the live broadcast of the execution of former Army Major Hassan, who shot 13 people at the Fort Hood military base in Texas in 2009. Previously, the live broadcast plan was opposed by Republicans, religious leaders and the public. Trump said that although he believed that the live broadcast might have a deterrent effect, he respected the feelings of kind-hearted people and that Hassan would be executed as planned, but it would not be broadcast live.

After Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan proposed the Songshan Airport relocation project, he went to the Executive Yuan to explain. Executive Yuan President Zhuo Rongtai expressed that he was looking forward to learning about Chiang Wanan's major change in attitude from four years ago, and requested the Taipei City Government to provide relevant meeting minutes or discussion materials in the past four years. Transportation Minister Chen Shikai and the Civil Aviation Administration of China pointed out that the third terminal and runway are expected to be completed in 2030 and opened in 2033. Songji is a backup airport for peach aircraft, and the relocation estimate will conservatively take more than 20 years.

Chen Yixin, chairman of the Kuomintang Cultural Communication Committee, criticized the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council for submitting blank overseas study expense reports for 13 consecutive months, accused Acting Chairman Li Yanhui of perfunctory Congress, and demanded that it publicly apologize and release complete accounts and itinerary within a time limit.

US President Trump announced the cancellation of the live broadcast of the execution of former Army doctor Nadar Malik Hassan. Hassan was sentenced to death for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting. The Pentagon had previously planned to broadcast the execution live, which triggered strong criticism from global human rights organizations. Trump ultimately decided to cancel the live broadcast, but the victims' families could still witness it in person.

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan responded to questions raised about the relocation of Songshan Airport and medical evacuation to outlying islands, emphasizing that difficulties will be overcome through helicopters, highway green channels and regional medical capacity integration, and reiterated the promotion of nutritious lunch policies to reduce the burden on families.
