Focusing on maritime and underwater technologies, TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan opened its doors to its visitors at Kocaeli Gölcük Shipyard Command at 09.00 yesterday. The interest in the festival was very intense. Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, President of Defense Industry Haluk Görgün, force commanders, Chairman of the Board of Directors Selçuk Bayraktar, representatives of many companies and organizations and citizens attended the opening speech of TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland.
While the 'SAT and SAS Commandos Show' was breathtaking on the first day of TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland, which symbolizes Turkey's power at sea, independence and national defense capabilities, Unmanned Sea and Underwater Vehicles left their mark on the first day of the festival. Those who came to the festival area with their families examined the ships and planes closely and took photographs. TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland will host its visitors with events in the fields of technology, defense industry and maritime until August 23.

DEMONSTRATION FLIGHT FROM UAVS
"Naval Air Command and UAV Flight Demonstration" was held within the scope of TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland events. Naval Air Command's Seahawk and Cobra helicopters, Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar AKINCI made a demonstration flight in the skies of Gölcük. Demonstration flights attracted great interest. Those who came to the festival area watched these shows with great excitement.
SAT AND SAS EXCITEMENT
The shows organized by the Underwater Attack (SAT) and Underwater Defense (SAS) commandos of the Naval Forces Command at TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland gave the participants exciting moments. According to the scenario, stray mines, Unmanned Marine Vehicles (IDA) and suspicious objects drifting in the Black Sea were neutralized by personnel who jumped into the sea from the helicopter. In another scenario, a hostage who was kidnapped by a terrorist on the beach was rescued by a raid organized by the SAT team with ATAK boats. In another activity, a covert attack on floating elements and an infiltration operation into the harbor were carried out. Assault divers from underwater secretly infiltrated the port and destroyed critical underwater infrastructures and cables in the port. After the successful operation, the team went ashore and raised the Turkish flag. In the last activity, the operation to board and seize the ship was carried out. The show, which was completed with the announcement "Our motto of discipline, our love of duty, our lives be sacrificed for this country", received intense applause from the audience.
ADMIRAL TATLIOĞLU: WE ARE BUILDING MORE THAN 50 WARSHIP
Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu stated that Turkey also has very strong naval forces. Tatlıoğlu said, "As of today, we are building more than 50 warships at the same time, 37 for the Turkish Navy and 24 for foreign countries. Turks are a seafaring nation. We established our Naval Forces in Anatolia, in these lands, in 1081. Before coming to Anatolia, we also arrived in the Caspian Sea. This year, we are celebrating the 945th anniversary of our Naval Forces, which we established in 1081 in İzmir Çeşme. Also "We celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Gölcük Shipyard with great happiness and pride," he said.
Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler said, "Our goal is to raise the opportunities and capabilities of our heroic army, including our naval forces, to higher levels."
