Toyota Innova facelift tested in India, now the front is similar to Hilux

Although Toyota Innova has withdrawn from the Taiwan market, it is still quite popular in the Southeast Asian market and will usher in a new third-generation model in 2022. The overall design is more family-oriented, focusing on a large seven-seater space that can accommodate three generations under one roof. After a four-year product cycle, it will now also receive a facelift update. Recently, the facelifted Innova was once again seen testing in India, further revealing more design details of the new car.

This time the facelifted Innova has once again appeared in India for road testing. Although the whole car is still covered in heavy camouflage, the new front shape can be vaguely seen, mainly through the redesigned water tank guard, LED headlights, and a new style sports front bumper with matte silver lower guard. It creates a rugged and hard-core look that is quite similar to the current Hilux, showing a refreshing visual effect.

In the interior, the current Innova uses a 7-inch digital instrument with a 10.1-inch central touch screen. The in-car system supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and T-Connect smart networking functions. Judging from the fact that the test car deliberately covered the central touch screen, it means that the facelifted Innova is expected to further increase the screen size to enhance the sense of technology and convenience.

In terms of space performance, the 2+2+3-seat configuration will be maintained. The high-end model will also have second-row Captain electrically adjustable independent seats with electric footrests, a panoramic electric sunroof and a wireless charging stand. The facelift is expected to provide better comfort and convenience through updated interior materials and additional equipment.

The third-row seats fold flat under the floor to provide more cargo space.

In the power section, the facelifted Innova will continue to use the existing 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline and 2.0-liter Hybrid gasoline-electric hybrid configurations. The latter, paired with an E-CVT continuously variable transmission, has a combined horsepower output of 186 horsepower and an average fuel consumption of 20.8 km/L.

The powertrain of the facelifted Innova is expected to remain unchanged.
