The Regional Electoral Court of the Federal District (TRE-DF) concluded, this Saturday (12), the judgment of candidacies for the government. With the votes, three of the 11 candidates were rejected: José Roberto Arruda (PSD), Elisson Ferreira (Agir) and Rico Pinheiro (PRTB).
The three must appeal to the Superior Electoral Court.
The last vote, on Saturday afternoon, rejected Elisson's candidacy request. The denial occurred after the Court rejected the party's Demonstration of Regularity of Party Acts (DRAP).
The vote highlights inconsistency in the information provided by Agir. Among them, the minutes of the party convention, which were amended twice, with changes to essential points such as the presidency of the session and the number of participants present.
In a statement, Elisson highlighted that there are no irregularities related to the Clean Record Law or accusations against him. The candidate says he will appeal. "If there was any formal issue or different interpretation, we will demonstrate this in the TSE, with respect for Justice and confidence that the democratic will will be preserved", he stated.
"This situation also shows how difficult it is to renew politics in Brazil. Often, the system creates obstacles that always end up favoring the same groups. But I embarked on this journey precisely to break with this logic. We will appeal to the TSE and I remain confident that the Court will recognize our right to contest and present the people of the DF with a clean, courageous and prepared alternative", says Elisson.
The PRTB DRAP, Rico Pinheiro's party, was also rejected.
The reason for denial is failure to comply with legal deadlines. According to the TRE, the document was only delivered on August 18, three days after the maximum deadline for registering the candidacy.
The decision also highlights inconsistency between the candidacies approved at the convention and those present in the DRAP. The minutes of the party convention approved the name of Cristiane Barros as Senate alternate. The party's name, however, appears in the document as a candidate for vice president.
In a statement, Rico's defense stated that the campaign will continue normally while the candidacy is in court. The candidate will also appeal.
"The Regional Electoral Court of the Federal District (TRE-DF) rejected, in the first instance, the candidacy registration. The decision, of a technical-procedural nature, is based exclusively on an issue related to the transmission deadline in the Electoral Court systems, with no indication of the candidate's ineligibility, improbity or personal irregularity", he stated.

The case of José Roberto Arruda (PSD) gained new contours with the judgment on embargoes for clarification last Friday (11). With the vote, the defense expects the process to advance to the TSE.
The Regional Electoral Court of the Federal District (TRE-DF) unanimously rejected the registration of the former governor's candidacy for the DF government. The decision took place on September 3rd.
The judges assessed that Arruda remains ineligible due to convictions for administrative improbity related to the Pandora's Box operation.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, Arruda has been ineligible since December 2018, when the conviction for intentional acts of administrative improbity was confirmed. The period of ineligibility would be 12 years, that is, until December 2030.
