Tucker Budzyn, the golden retriever who became a beloved internet star through his funny videos and unmistakable personality, has died at eight. His death came just two weeks after his family revealed his lymphoma diagnosis. Despite responding well to treatment, Tucker developed a serious complication that worsened rapidly. His owner, Courtney Budzyn, shared the heartbreaking news with followers across social media, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.

Tucker's death came as a shock because his family had initially seen encouraging signs after his cancer diagnosis. Courtney had announced on August 30 that Tucker was undergoing treatment after veterinarians discovered lymphoma. His treatment included the CHOP chemotherapy protocol, along with herbal therapies overseen by a veterinary oncologist. Courtney later said that Tucker had entered partial remission after only a week. Even while dealing with cancer, the eight-year-old dog continued to enjoy many of his favorite activities. He went swimming, took walks and visited parks. Courtney said he remained active despite appearing slightly “dumpier” than normal. The situation changed unexpectedly. According to Courtney, Tucker had lymphoma in his intestines. As chemotherapy worked on the cancer, it left a hole in the affected area, allowing an infection to develop. His condition deteriorated quickly, leaving the family with little time to respond. "Tucker’s gone. Tucker passed away on Wednesday unexpectedly. He was doing really well with treatment, but we didn’t know that he had lymphoma in his intestines," Courtney said. She explained that the family rushed him for medical care after realizing how sick he had become. Doctors used antibiotics and fluids in an effort to fight the infection, but his condition continued to worsen. "He was so weak, and we got him on antibiotics and fluids, but it was too late. We tried to save him, but we couldn’t save him. He’s home now. I want you to know I tried to do everything I could. I did everything. His temperature kept raising and there was nothing… and nothing was changing it. We had to let him go.
