Montenegro Visa Application for Turkish Citizens is Changing

The rules applied to Turkish citizens' travel to Montenegro are changing. Montenegro visa application will come into force again for maroon passport holders as of November 1, 2026. Thus, visa requirements will be required for travel to the country, especially Budva and Kotor.

Under the current regulation, Turkish citizens can stay in Montenegro for up to 30 days without a visa. However, this practice will end as of October 31, 2026.

The Montenegrin government adopted the regulation on changes to the visa regime on July 23, 2026. The new practice will come into force on November 1, 2026.

After this date, citizens of the Republic of Türkiye with a maroon passport will need to travel to the country by obtaining a Montenegro visa.

EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE FOR SOME PASSENGERS

With the new regulation, visa-free entry will continue for some passengers who meet certain conditions.

People with a valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland visa and those with a valid residence permit in these countries will be able to enter Montenegro without a visa for up to 30 days if they meet the specified conditions.
