"Streets Safe" operations were launched across Türkiye

Following the operations carried out yesterday under the name "My Family is Safe", Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that operations named "The Streets Are Safe" have started across the country as of this morning.

Gürlek, who made a statement regarding the issue on his social media account, used the following statements:

"Today, on the morning of September 14, when millions of our children returned to schools for the new academic year, we launched "STREETS ARE SAFE" operations across the country against street gangs and new generation criminal organizations that set their sights on the future of our children."

JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST 2 THOUSAND 447 PEOPLE

Minister Gürlek stated that within the scope of the investigations carried out by 78 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, judicial proceedings were carried out against 2 thousand 447 suspects and 148 simultaneous operations were carried out.

"Our fight against these criminal structures, which operate in a wide range of crimes, from drugs to plunder, from arms trade to blackmail, from money laundering to illegal betting, is not limited to catching criminals. Our goal is to eliminate the human resources, financing, networks, logistics facilities and crime production capacity of criminal organizations. To destroy the structures that try to influence our youth through social media and portray crime as an element of power and status."
