Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made the first flight using the 4th main runway of Istanbul Airport.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu shared the images of the flight using the 4th main runway of Istanbul Airport, which was opened today, on his social media account. Uraloğlu said, "We rose towards a new horizon from the 4th main runway of our Istanbul Airport. Every flight starting from our new runway, which we put into service today, will add a new route to the strong air connections that Istanbul has established with the world." he said.

Minister Uraloğlu also made evaluations about the new runway during the flight, during which he used the 4th main runway of Istanbul Airport, which was put into service today. Minister Uraloğlu stated that they made the first take-off today at the ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Emphasizing the importance of the fourth main runway, Minister Uraloğlu said, "We have 3 main and 2 spare runways. With this, we have 4 main runways and 2 spare runways. We will build 2 more main runways in the north-south direction and a spare runway. We will have 6 main and 2 spare runways in total. There is currently an airport with 8 runways in Chicago, when we finish Istanbul Airport, this will have 9 runways." He made a statement.

Stating that triple runway operations were also carried out at Istanbul Airport, Uraloğlu said, “Hopefully, we will carry out the quadruple runway operation at the same time in Istanbul in the future.” he said.
