Mainz University Medical Center reconnected to the power grid

The University Medical Center in Mainz is connected to the public power supply again. As the Mainz University Hospital announced, patients are being admitted again. The site is now back in regular operation, it was said. Patients were not at risk.

Due to a cable fire late Saturday afternoon, there was a power outage across the entire University Medical Center campus. It had to be switched to emergency power.

The Mainz University Hospital is the largest hospital in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. According to the clinic, around 9,000 people are employed there. Around 395,000 patients per year receive outpatient and inpatient care there.
