Homeland Shield Forces Captured Mount Numan in Lahic

According to the statement made by the Media Office of the Homeland Shield Forces, a rapid military operation was carried out against the summit of Mount Numan, which dominates the Vaziiyye and Mudaribe districts in the Lahij province in the south of the country, and the Dar al-Kafir region.

It was stated that the operation, which started with a controlled infiltration attempt at night, surrounded the region and entered the positions in the morning. It was stated that the elements affiliated with the Houthis, who had to retreat from the region, left behind casualties and weapons and ammunition.

In the statement, it was stated that Numan Mountain has strategic importance because it dominates the supply lines between Vaziiyye and Mudaribe, and it was noted that the Houthis use the mountain to monitor the region and to attack the surrounding villages and positions.

It was stated that capturing the summit of Mount Numan would contribute to ensuring the security of the villages in the Mudaribe Valley and the surroundings of Vaziiyya, reducing the sources of threat and attack of the Houthis and cutting off one of the important infiltration routes.

Conflicts in Yemen

The conflicts that have escalated again in Yemen since July have noticeably changed the control map on the field.

After gaining control over the entire Hudaydah province, the Houthis advanced towards the west of Taiz and captured cities on the Red Sea coast such as Muha and the lines providing access to Babulmandeb.

The Houthis' capture of the city of Muha in Taiz on the Red Sea coast, as well as Hanish Archipelago, Meyyun Island and Zubab around the Babulmandeb Strait, caused a significant change in the conflict area.
