NEW Party's district building in Bornova opened its doors to the public with a ceremony.
NEW Party Izmir Founding Provincial Chairman Çağatay Güç, former CHP General Secretary Kamil Okyay Sındır, former CHP Tunceli Tunceli Deputy and Party Assembly (PM) Member Polat Şaroğlu, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, NEW Party İzmir Provincial Board Members, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and Bornova Municipal Council Members, NEW Party Bornova Founding District Chairman Ertürk Çapın, NEW Party Bornova District Organization members and NGO representatives attended the ceremony.
GÜÇ: “WHEN OUR PEOPLE PRESENT THEIR WILL, THEY WILL LEAVE”
Yeni Party Izmir Provincial Chairman Çağatay Güç stated that the public did not support the operations carried out by the AKP, which was afraid of losing its power, and said:
"As you know, this process started in the first local elections. The candidates determined in the field studies were so good and successful that we got 38 percent in the local elections. That's where the crisis broke out for the government. Thus, they started to deal with the party through the future president Ekrem İmamoğlu. Then they arrested both him and our other mayors. Currently, nearly 30 percent of the mayors are being tried in pre-trial detention. They are not guilty of any crime. They could not produce a crime. They said they were the biggest one, but they could not find it. They lied to our people. They tried to deceive him, but they couldn't convince him.
Our people have seen the true face of this government. His support for us continued to increase. They tried to gain votes by recruiting mayors, but it still didn't work. When none of these things happened, they took over our party by bringing to the fore a group called Butlan who agreed to take over the party. They hoped that; 'The CHP under Butlan will get 10-15 percent, a new party founded by Özgür Özel will get the same amount and we will get out of the way...' Friends, this did not work either. Currently, our vote rate is not less than 35 percent. The AKP government's vote rate currently never exceeds 20 percent.
The vote rate of CHP under Butlan's administration never exceeds 4 percent. This is a success carried out by our Chairman Özgür Özel, but it is especially a success that our people want and carry out. This; It is not a process carried out only by provincial heads, district heads and mayors. This is a process carried out by the nation, a process that the nation wants. Don't be afraid of the AKP government, don't think they won't leave. They will go. They will leave when our people reveal their will. There are deep cracks within themselves right now. We are a party that acts as a whole. We now represent Türkiye. We are the government in the coming period. "We need to know this, we need to act accordingly."
EŞKİ: “BORNOVA HAS PROMOTED A CHAIRMAN FROM ITS MOST”
Underlining the value that Chairman Özgür Özel attaches to Bornova, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki said, "We are now at a choice point: Either we would remain silent as Türkiye retreats into a dark swamp where there is no lawlessness and democracy; or we would say 'stop' to this, as a continuation of the generations that have been struggling for democracy in these lands for centuries, as part of a political struggle that has internalized the legacy of Mustafa Kemal and is determined to carry it forward. We have a big 'stop'." "We said and established a new party named after the nation and the people. Our Chairman is coming on Saturday. Bornova produced a Chairman from his heart. We must welcome our Chairman, who is the son of Bornova, here with a very strong and crowded community."
ÇAPIN: “ÇAĞATAY GÜÇ PROVIDED FIRE-FREE TRANSITION”
Speaking about the success of the Izmir Provincial Organization and the memberships in Bornova during the transition to the NEW Party, NEW Party Bornova Founding District Chairman Ertürk Çapın said the following:
"As the NEW Party, we reached the number of members in Bornova, which was accumulated over the years in our old party, in 1 month. As you know, the government has various pressures on our party, our leaders and our organization. However, despite this, Bornova reorganized our party in a magnificent way.
Here, I congratulate our Provincial President Çağatay Güç, who ensured the transition of our organization to the NEW Party in Izmir without any loss 30 out of 30, and ensured that our organization remained united in the process. Believe me, the majority of members in Bornova are not from CHP. This is a very interesting situation that needs to be investigated sociologically. We may not have a very luxurious building, but we are the people's party. The building of the people's organization is like this; "There is no need for pomp and show."
