The New Party Central Executive Board (MYK) convened at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of Özgür Özel. After the meeting, which lasted approximately 4 hours, party spokesperson Zeynel Emre made a statement. Emre said, "The Justice and Development Party has declared war on the municipalities we won, especially since the last local election. And for trivial reasons, it is arresting our mayors with various allegations, it is putting some municipalities on its side by pressure, and some council members are also getting their share of this pressure. And today, in a significant number of places in our country, a blow has been made to the will of the nation, in a significant part of the population. Because it is governed by deputy mayors who were not elected or authorized by the nation."

'IT IS DEALING A COUP ON THE WILL OF THE NATION'

Referring to the suspension of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer from office, Emre said, "When you arrest Vahap Seçer and suspend him from office, you do not solve the problems of the people of Mersin. The problems of the citizens who are interested in the citrus business there are not solved, the job of the tradesmen of Mersin is not solved, poverty and unemployment there are not reduced. This government does not care about the troubles, problems and problems of the citizens, like similar authoritarian governments all over the world. It does not care about these, it is living in an age of rent; "He is trying to create areas of profit according to the interests and benefits of his own narrow group, according to the wishes of that minority, and with all the power he has, he is making a blow to the will of the nation," he said.
